At Cybake, we have over 20 years’ experience in developing solutions for independent food manufacturers and retailers in the UK and Ireland. Our Cybake bakery management software is used by over 100 of the UK’s small and medium sized bakeries, and our bespoke solutions users range from e-learning providers to aircraft parts manufacturers.
Infood was born from a series of requests from our Cybake users in late 2013. Many bakers were concerned about the time and resources that would be required to comply with the new FIR labelling and allergen regulations, which would be enforced from December 2014.
Our users felt daunted by the task of chasing down their suppliers for information, compiling endless lists on allergen information, and having to calculate or lab-test the nutritional value of their products. And that’s before they even got to the part about delivering the information to consumers and wholesale customers that the new law required!
As we began working on a solution, we realised that standard ‘nutrition calculation software’ was no longer fit for purpose for many food manufacturers, who also needed the ability to quickly identify allergens, properly sequence ingredients listings, easily QUID ingredients and be alerted when product information was incomplete.
Not only that, but we wanted to provide our customers with a solution that put an end to the countless hours of data entry that many systems require. We wanted to provide a solution that was accessible, automatable and integrated with our users’ existing systems.
Twelve months of consultation and development later, the result was Infood; the most advanced food information system on the market!
